Yangon Assembled Ford New Ranger Wins Best Pick-up Truck at Inaugural Myanmar Car of the Year 2018 Awards
November 7th, 2018 Yangon, Myanmar -The Ford Ranger was named ˜Best Pickup Truck’ at the inaugural 2018 Myanmar Car of the Year (MCOTY) Awards, hosted recently by Drive Magazine at the Pullman hotel in Yangon.
The local assembled Ranger bested their respective competitors based on the MCOTY Awards’ criteria, which included exterior and interior design, performance, functionality, comfort, handling, and value for money.

The ˜Built Ford Tough’ Ranger features an array of smart technologies combined with unmatched capability and versatility and sets the industry benchmark in the pickup truck segment for design, comfort, and refinement.
This was the inaugural year for MCOTY awards, which aims to bring the international standard to Myanmar’s automotive industry, as well as to promote authorized brand new car showrooms in Myanmar.
The judging panel for the MCOTY Awards comprised motoring journalists from Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and Hungary who received the endorsement from Myanmar’s Authorized Automobile Distribution Association.
To qualify for consideration, vehicles must be new, left-hand drive and available in Myanmar. There were ten award categories this year, out of which, nine categories are judged by jury members. The People’s Choice award was selected by an online poll to allow public participation.
