Capital Automotive Ford Myanmar Held Driving Skills for Life Program
October 25th, 2019 Yangon – Ford Motor Company introduced its global Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) driver safety programme to Myanmar for the first-time last year, with over 150 licensed drivers participating in a number of safe driving workshops. Following its success, DSFL came back this year with two-day workshop sessions from October 24th – 25th.
Organized in partnership with Get Ride and Avis, Capital Automotive Limited and RMA Group, trainers from the RMA Academy led the DSFL training, alongside local dealership staff who have been trained by Ford’s global DSFL team.
Participants included drivers from the Get Ride car hailing app and Avis, Myanmar’s leading car rental company. There were two DSFL sessions to choose from with each session drawing in 60 drivers.
Cesar El Berjaoui, Fleet Service Support Manager, led the sessions through a mix of classroom training and hands-on driving experience.
The workshop addressed a number of driver risks, including ways to manage unexpected scenarios, distracted driving from mobile phone use, hazard recognition and speed management. Drivers had the chance to practice on four different car models, including the Ford Everest, Wildtrak, Ford EcoSport and Ford Kuga.

Giving drivers the tools and resources needed for safe driving, we are quickly working towards making roads safer for everyone, said Cesar El Berjaoui, Fleet Service Support Manager.
The DSFL programme aims to raise awareness of road safety, and help to reduce traffic fatalities and injuries, by educating drivers on the skills and techniques needed to drive more safely.
DSFL is Ford’s flagship global corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme. In Asia, Ford DSFL is now in its eleventh successful year of training licensed drivers of all ages, free-of-charge. More than 85,000 drivers have participated across six countries in the ASEAN region, including Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Myanmar.
