A New IFRC Contract Approach
RMA Group managed the maintenance and repair of more than 400 International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) vehicles over a period of three years. The fleet was made up of multiple brands and vehicle types, including Toyota, Land Rover, Ford, and all types of SUVs, trucks and motorcycles.
A Fully Integrated Service and Support Approach
A highly functional, integrated RMA project team was established consisting of professional teams from Contract Services, RMA Parts, Service & Purchasing, Logistics, Human Resources, Legal and Corporate Affairs. The operation is managed under the RMA Contract Services Division.
Setting up such a project in a remote and troubled location was a complicated challenge, which required the Group to provide every essential service needed for total, reliable fleet management. RMA is the leader in Aid sector response and support.
Word-of-Mouth Works In Afghanistan
Most Afghans cannot read and over 60% receive news and information via radio or through word of mouth.
Radios are unparalleled information conduits for humanitarian assistance, extreme weather alerts, and vital information on medical and veterinary care. Every day radios save lives. Working with the US military in Kandahar, RMA sourced 15,000 dynamo and solar powered radios to the region to support the local population.
