Cambodia: Specialized Utility and Cable Fault Test Vehicles
For over two decades, RMA Group has been a partner to major operators of electricity, water and telecommunication networks. RMA supplies cable tested vans equipped with high voltage testing and diagnostics of new and existing cable lines. Integrated in urban vans or all-terrain vehicles, the testing diagnostics equipment provide field engineers with advanced technology for accurate and safe cable testing and diagnostics.
RMA supplied 22 utility trucks to PAE, a Lindsay Goldberg, LLC company, in Cambodia, including 18-ton Ford crane trucks, Ford arm-lifting bucket trucks, as well as sophisticated high voltage fault-location service vans to help renovate Cambodia’s electricity grid. RMA’s team of specialists closely monitored the delivery of the entire fleet by sea and air. Full training and technical assistance was also provided.
Afghanistan: Equipment Maintenance & Apprenticeship Services (EMAS) Program
RMA, under a sub-contract to PAE, performed Equipment Maintenance and Apprenticeship Services (EMAS), and provided support to the Afghanistan National Army (ANA) by establishing and operating a Maintenance Management Program.
This initiative delivered organizational and unit-level maintenance and trained ANA soldiers to manage its maintenance facility with the long-term goal of becoming self-reliant.
Since its inception in 2005, RMA’s project team had been working vigorously to provide superior service to meet and exceed expectations and subsequently was awarded the EMAS/Afghanistan sub-contract in January, 2008.
The EMAS operation consisted of a Central Maintenance Facility, containing support departments such as Project Management and Site Management, Operations, Human Resources, Administration, Information Technology, Training Department, Supply Chain Management, Production Control and Quality Control/Property Management.
At the time, EMAS supported over 26,000 pieces of equipment using Kerridge Autoline automated maintenance management software. This Class IX warehouse inventory contained a growing inventory of more than 14,000 line items.
With more than 500 employees, the EMAS program was situated in six regional and 14 forward support sites, with nine Combat Support Services maintenance teams supporting ANA operating bases.
The Tacom Contract
In 2004 RMA Automotive was awarded the TACOM contract from the US army to supply specialized Police and Light Tactical Vehicles to the Afghan National Army as well as the Afghan National Police. In three years, the Afghan National Security Forces received a total of 30,000 modified security vehicles.
RMA Rapid Response Against an Epidemic
58 special œOutbreak Investigation vehicles were needed by the Ministry of Health to counter the Bird Flu epidemic in a Vietnam outbreak in 2009, and RMA was quick to respond.
RMA’s designers and engineers proposed a specially modified and equipped Ford Ranger pickup. Each truck included protective biohazard equipment for five health workers, disinfectant and chemical storage, portable sprayer and hot and cold insulated rear enclosure. Also in the design were non-slip, anti-static flooring and anti-shock and vibration features to protect gathered samples and occupants.
Once RMA’s specialists received design approval based upon the Ministry of Health’s exact requirements, prototyping and rigorous testing began. Vehicle deliveries began just 12 weeks later, and Vietnam’s Bird Flu threat was eliminated.
