Driving Enthusiast From Myanmar Wins The Land Rover Experience Tour Peru 2017 Driving Challenge In Laos
September 25th 2017 – Jaguar Land Rover Myanmar is pleased to announce that Dr Soe Htut Aung has won the first rotation of challenges at the Land Rover Experience Tour Peru 2017, held in Laos on 24 September 2017, and will have the exceptional opportunity to participate in the prestigious Land Rover Experience Inca Trail in Peru.
Delighted with his win, the 33-year-old off-road enthusiast will share his driving enthusiasm with some of the best drivers from around the world who will congregate in Peru for the ultimate off-road driving adventure in the All-New Land Rover Discovery, to test their driving mettle in some of nature’s most picturesque but challenging landscapes.
œThis is one of the most exciting driving challenges I’ve ever had the pleasure of winning, says Dr Soe, a medical doctor who works with an NGO and travels extensively to remote parts of Myanmar to appreciate the importance of safe and skillful off-road driving practices. œI am looking forward to the challenges ahead in Peru and shall put all my driving skills to the test ¦ After all the practice I’ve had driving in Myanmar’s rural and inaccessible areas, I hope I have an advantage over the other drivers!
A member of the 4 x 4 Myanmar Club and Land Rover Club in Myanmar, Dr Soe is also the Founder of the Myanmar Off Road Association, a reflection of his passion and enthusiasm for the sport of off-road and adventure driving.
œIt’s clear that Dr Soe’s passion, enthusiasm and experience in off-road driving were clearly key to his resounding success, says Mr Ian McLean, General Manager of Jaguar Land Rover Myanmar. œAt the qualifying event at Yangon, Dr Soe’s time for the Ring Fence challenge was an extraordinary 32 seconds; half the time of the nearest competitor! He clearly knows how to handle a vehicle!
Dr Soe will be part of the Land Rover Experience Tour Peru 2017, which will take the world’s best adventure drivers on an unforgettable off-road experience of a lifetime. The driving teams will traverse dense forest and difficult alpine tundra, rocky mountains and desert sand over a period of six action-packed days. They will be driving in the All-New Land Rover Discovery, which was launched earlier this month in Myanmar.
