PANASONIC JAGUAR RACING DETERMINED TO FIGHT BACK IN BERLIN

May 14th, 2018 Whitley – Panasonic Jaguar Racing are ready to come back fighting as they head to Berlin for the ninth E-Prix of the season and enter the final stages of the 2017/18 ABB Formula E Championship.

Following a tough weekend in Paris for the British team, both Mitch Evans and Nelson Piquet Jr. are determined to come back with renewed focus and determination in Berlin. The Jaguar I-TYPE 2 has proved its pace with consistently strong performances in both Free Practice sessions and Qualifying throughout the races to date.

Formula E returns to the Tempelhof Airport circuit for the fourth time. The circuit, at 2.37km long with 10 turns, has been specifically designed to showcase the efficiency of the Formula E racecars. In 2017, Mitch Evans walked away from the double-header weekend with the fastest lap on the first day of racing, and Panasonic Jaguar Racing are hopeful that they can replicate the pace with the improved Jaguar I-TYPE 2.

James Barclay, Team Director Panasonic Jaguar Racing: œAlthough we had a tough weekend in Paris, we know we still have more to prove. Both drivers, despite the issues we had, have demonstrated their speed and we head to Berlin with confidence.

As we approach the final races of the season we’re happy with the progress we’ve made. Comparing our results from last year there has been a significant improvement and we hope to continue fighting and finish the season with more points.

Mitch Evans, #20: œParis was a really tough weekend for me. I made a strong start and we were definitely competing up there with the top drivers, but there were a few complications that got in the way. I have no doubt that we will come back fighting in Berlin and I’m determined to come away with a strong result.

Nelson Piquet Jr, #3: œI’ve had a string of difficult weekends and my team have been amazing. In between the races I’ve spent a lot of time with the engineers examining the issue’s we’ve had and I’m happy with our progress. I’ve had good sessions in the simulator so hopefully I’ll be back in the points again in Berlin.
